Sort of a last minute thing, but I got invited to do some quick sketches of people at the Refinery29 Launch last night at Sloane. I actually met with Carol Nunnely one of the department heads of the Fashion school at AAU yesterday to pick her brain about Fashion Illustration and how I could get into putting together a portfolio for freelance work. She was nice enough to meet with me out of her busy schedule and a job opportunity popped up, talk about great timing! Anyway, here are some photos I took of some of the quick sketches of people that came by and wanted their portrait drawn. It was really fun and I really enjoyed it, despite being in a dark corner and drawing, people really loved my work! Good crowd! I'm so happy =) I wasn't able to take photos of all of them, but some promised to send me photos of the sketches, let's hope they remember!

Some other sketches I drew in between drawing people
This I actually experimented with at home =) Markers and water colors on water color paper.
Markers on illustration board. Its interesting to me that that proportions are much more elongated in fashion illustration, I learned from Carol at our meeting that the proportions are broken into thirds, a far different concept from drawing the figure in normal proportions. Its actually kinda fun to draw the figures in this way.
