Clothed Figure Drawing Class Wk 3 Drawings

Actions of the body and how movements make the folds in our clothes go in a certain direction. The folds that we draw should reinforce what the body is doing. This last week we explored and examined our way around the folds to see what parts of the body it follows. Tension and compression points: where areas such as the inside of the elbow, underneath the knee, the small of the back as the torso arches forward. These areas compress and the opposite side stretches. Being aware of the body/anatomy beneath the clothes. "Wrap arounds" where the folds wrap around the form to create dimension and volume.
